The gears have a bunch of combat encounters so our noble operator is sitting idle for most of the session. Everybody else moves into the middle gear, at which point the operator turns the rooms into configuration 1 to allow access to the northeastern tunnel. One player stays behind to operate the control panel. The most obvious and also the most problematic solution.
Out of these configurations, none directly connect the control room to the exit in the northeast. The room on the far west has a console that allows the gears to be rotated. Players start in the center and want to make their way to the east, then north to reach the stairway down. This gave off enough light for the heroes to discover a secret door at the end of the tunnel. When Smiles entered the tunnel carrying the puzzle cubes, a flame erupted below each statue. In one tunnel were eight statues of the Nine Gods arranged in opposing pairs. Searching the area, the heroes discovered two tunnels leading from the bottom of the cliffs. Those who dare enter take heed: The enemies oppose. The heroes were watched over by three gargoyles as they searched the area. The heroes recovered the final puzzle cube and retreated from the Fane.Īt the base of the cliffs surrounding Omu, the heroes found a 15 foot obelisk covered in ancient vines. The Yuan-ti took a little while to realise that their fire-based spells were not as effective as expected! The battle appeared to be going badly with Mehen being knocked unconscious, but gradually the tide turned when Ras Nsi was killed and the heroes were able to mop up the remaining enemies. The battle raged mostly through a corridor which allowed Ras Nsi's spellcasters to target groups of heroes with spells.įlare's new spell was effective at protecting the party. Flare and Mehen initiated combat with Ras Nsi and his minions.
